RMR "Resting Metabolic Rate" testing page.

Sit Back, relax and in under 14 minutes you'll KNOW how many calories you Burn at rest.

Our resting metabolism dictates how many calories we are capable of burning. Lean body tissue is one of the determining factors of how many calories we can burn. Being in the “right” calorie range is one of the best ways to either lose or gain weight depending on the client’s goal. Whether a person is working out or not they need to be in a specific calorie zone to help them maintain, gain, or lose weight. The RMR test will provide the client with a precise printout of what their body is capable of burning. As they exercise and build up muscle their Metabolism begins to go up. Muscle needs fuel to survive and the metabolism up-regulates to supply that fuel. It is a perfect assessment for a member wanting to get a gauge on how many calories they can burn at their present condition. After a few months of exercising correctly with or without a trainer their RMR should be higher. It again is a great tool to show the worth of having a personal trainer or exercising in general. The test is performed in 12 to 15 minutes. The client is seated in a comfortable chair and breathes into a snorkel like mouth piece for the amount of time it takes to calibrate and calculate their RMR. It is suggested that the client not eat a large meal or have any type of caffeine before taking the test. Each test takes just under 15 minutes. Four can be scheduled within an hour.
